Cask at The Falcon (JDW), High Wycombe. Golden with a thin white head and a light sparkle. A little pine up front then lots of lemon and grapefruit. Plenty of hops but not overly bitter. The more I drank it the more I liked it. Really good golden- as you’d expect from this brewery.

Cask @ Microbar, Manchester. Golden with a small creamy head. Has a slightly stewed tropical fruit character throughout. Decent session ale.

Cask at the Wheatsheaf, Maids Moreton. Deep, clear gold copper. Aroma is fresh, herby, a bit woody and slightly astringent. Taste is bittersweet and complex: the sweetness toys with you, and the bitterness stays in the background holding up the flavour profile. Slight citrus, pine and caramel notes and aftertaste. This is a golden ale with balls. A well-executed concoction.
