Bottle. Pours hazy darkish amber with airy but stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of butter and hops. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and yeast, with buttery and hoppy notes and fruity hints. Bitter and estery afteraste. Acceptable but would be much better without the butter.

Bottle, 6.5%. Good malty aroma, some CO2. Cloudy dark orange/brownish colour. OK stable off-white head. The flavour is nicely malty with some toffee and a fruity citric note. Late toffee aftertaste as well. The acid and toffee actually work well together. Not bad for the style.

750 ml bottle. Unclear deep orange body with a nice, creamy and lacing off-white head. Aroma has caramel malt, dry fruit and brown sugar with a hint of alcohol. Flavor is very sweet caramel malt, dry fruit, yeast, moderate bitterness and brown sugar. Fine body and decent aftertaste. Nothing wrong at all, just not very exciting, it’s a rather decent abbey dubbel, like a Chimay red clone or something, but times has changes and this is just no news from nowhere today.

0.5L bottle. Pours cloudy brown with a thick, dense beige head. little lacing. Aroma of all sorts of sugar, brown sugar, rock candy, artificial sweetener , fruity, yeasty phenols, spices, alcohol. The taste is very sweet, not really balanced with by an very subdued bitterness. Smooth palate with a medium medium sweet and fruity finish.
