Bottle shared at Leighton’s. 10 year old vintage fun time. It pours cloudy red - brown with a small white head. The nose is funky, musty, spoiled peach, stewed nectarine, sherbet, earth and damp leaves. The taste is bitter, woody, light funk, stewed orange, peach, light tartness, spice, marmalade, very earthy and kumquat with a lingering dry finish. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Great depth a rather nice funky tartness. Has aged gracefully. Really rather enjoyable stuff. Tasty.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Plorna. Pours unclear orange with a very slight foamy head. Tangy citrus in the nose, some musty wood, light vinegar notes. Medium sweet flavor, oily, with some marmalade, light toffee, ripe orange, woody dryness, light acidity. Medium bodied, lightly chewy, with spritzy carbonation. Warming and drying in huge in the finish, with more tangy citrus, some bread, caramelised sugars. Very good stuff. Nicely layered.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Thanks Vova & Stas. 2005 bottle. Hazy red-amber with no head. Aroma of sherry, oak, lots of dark fruits and cookies. Vinous flavor, a bit sourish, with faint sweetness, dry red wine, oak, dark fruits and a bitterish note, quite astringent. Medium-bodied, red wine mouthfeel. Nice and interesting.

Rerate, 275 ml corked bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen. ABV is 10%. Drunk at near room temperature, as recommended. Deep brownish red colour, no head nor any carbonation. Strong aroma of oak, malts, raisins and fusel alcohols. Oaky and malty flavour, notes of dark dried fruits, but not very sweet. A little carbonation would do wonders here. Original rating: Shared bottle at local tasting. Cognac coloured beer, no head nor carbonation. Malty and oaky aroma and flavour, like a barleywine, but not overly sweet. Would profit from a little carbonation.

Hazy dark red amber beer, no head. Dark toffee and wet wood nose, sour cherry too! Zero carbonation. Oxidised malt - chocolate and caramel. A little sour cherry and a trace of balsamic vinegar. Finishes sour cherry. Pretty intense and clearly aged. It works - just!
