Light haze on this yellowish gold beer, tidy pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth malts, a light creamy sweetness, perhaps not as rich as normal. Hops bring mild pine, citric pith, slightly thin orange, touches of tangerine and mandarin. Modest hop spice. Light and semi dry finish. Flavoursome and layered but lacking a bit of hop intensity by Kernel standards.

Bottle, via Kernel’s online shop. Get in! Moderate haze on a pale gold. Lovely Kernel swede. Nose has fresh pine needle. Orange peel. Some torn mint leaf. Clean as a whistle malt. Taste has clean, fresh, citrus and sappy bitterness. Light to medium body. Foamy carbonation. Lightly drying. Lingering bitterness to finish. Type of pale that warrants smashing pint after pint. If only...

Bottle at home picked up from Arch 7. A light hazed yellow straw coloured pour with a frothy white head. Attractive. Aroma is soft white bread, white grape, little doughy, delicate citrus, Flavour is composed of soft rustic bready grains, straw, little delicate green citrus, grassy pine. Some numbing green hop. Palate is soft, slightly crisp, moderate carbonation, semi crisp finish. Very drinkable.

Bottle from Westhill Service Statd. It pours lightly hazy golden with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh and moreish, bright tangerine and tangy orange, clean bready malts, pine, grass and a touch of hay. The taste is clean and crisp, dry, good level of bitterness, lovely fresh pine character, resin, grass, lightly floral, pithy, zesty tangerine, nip of spice, light bready malt and a touch of toastiness. Finish is quenching, dry and piney. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. This isn't big and showy, it's classy and well executed. Moreish.

Bottle at home at Hackney - picked up at the brewery taproom. London rating #5,000. Pours mostly clear gold with a frothy, white head. Lovely stuff, with balanced piney bitterness accents, dry pale malts, some orange rind, grass. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Rounded finish, more crisp pale mats, citrusy rindy accents, mellow resin, piney bitterness. Outstanding.
