Chocolate Vanilla Porter.

Award winning smooth imperial porter. Brewed with organic cacao nibs and Madagascan vanilla pods. Deep chocolate sweetness given balance by the fresh vanilla and deep roasty malts.

Bottle shared at RBESG. Opaque black color, small light brown head. Smell and taste malts, roasted malts, lightly alcohol, a hint of wood, slightly cocoa, lightly bitter. Nice beer.

Bottle shared during RBESG. Pours brown with a creamy beige head. The nose has chocolate, earth, soft rubber notes. Medium sweet flavor with dark fruits, burnt marshmallows, some further chocolate. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Light burnt malt finish, big on the cocoa, with sturdy roast, bittersweet chocolate and earth. Not bad.

Bottle. Appearance is pretty much pitch black, no light escaping. No head despite a vigorous pour- just some foam around the edge. Aroma- chocolate, some choclate fuge, coffee, roasty malt, some vanilla, spicey hints. Taste- roasted malt, espresso, dark chocolate, bitter finish, a bit of vanilla but not that much, and a little thin in the mouthfeel. Pretty good overall though.

Bottle, massive thanks to Ian. It pours dark brown with a minimal tan head. The nose is sweet, roasty, toffee, vinous, berry, yoghurt, candy and milk chocolate. The taste is crisp, roasty, toast, tart berry, treacle, vanilla, mild astringency, decent bitterness and milk chocolate with a warming finish. Medium+ body and fine prickly carbonation. Rather decent.

Keg at Foundry Canterbury. Black beer with thick tan creamy head. Very choccy aroma even thru the thick head. Very thick in mouth almost like liquid choc. Alcohol is well hidden. It is quite sweet. Not huge vanilla. Just a little newspaper. Good though

Cask at the 14th Egham Beer Festival at the EUSC, 28/03/13. Mid black with a good sized frothy tan head - looks the mutts nuts! Nose is light fart, dark malt, cocoa, vanilla icing. Taste comprises dark roast malt, touch lactose, dark chocolate, brown sugars, hint of coffee. Full end of medium body, surprisingly light for a 9%+ jobbie, fine carbonation, touch of booze in the finish. A very drinkable string cask stout, alcohol well integrated, surprisingly easy to drink!
