500ml bottle from the Jolly Vintner, sat outside while Margie had a glass of Ros'e wine; lunchtime on 2nd May 2025. Red hue to the body, off white head. Wild berry aroma and initial taste, some serious malt action gives it a decent base and there is a slight bitter finish.

(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 25 Nov 2024) Reddish amber colour with foamy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with rye bread, orange peel and blood orange. Malty taste with notes of caramel, chocolate, dark bread, dried fruit and a mild earthy, citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced bitter. Nice one.

November 2016: Cask half pint at The Market Porter, Borough. Dark copper colour, small off-white head. Moderate malty aroma. Earthy and surprisingly roasty dry flavour, not bad, but not quite my cup of tea.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 27/11/2023. Deep amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Caramel, red berries, some autumnal toastiness, crisp malts before a moderately bitter finish. An enjoyable seasonal beer.

Handpull cask at the White Horse, Exning. Bright orange-ruby with a large beige head. Floral malty scent, with hints of rose and caramel. Extremely bitter taste counters the sweetness of the malt but it isn’t really balanced. Drinkable and it has its moments but I find even a half pint of it wearing.
