Golden-amber. Drops bright from the can. Very earthy, spicy nose. This beer is all Goldings so the nose is a bit different than what I might be used to. Earthy, with moderate bitterness. Light caramel malt and a clean American yeast character. Decent balanced approach.

Single can, $1.50 @ Binny’s, Nov. ’10. I accidentally let this get frozen, and was worried when it didn’t "psssht" upon opening. But it poued, if silently, a big frothy head over a coppery pale ale body, a bit of haze. Smell carries a light note of American style hops, but definitely there with a purpose. Taste is hoppier than the nose, A slightly sweet and sticky malt taste, tending toward the caramel side. The hop bitterness is mostly pine and resin, without pepper or citrus. A lot of big beer flavor.

Can at Old Mill Stream in St. Charles, MO. The beer is a clear copper color with a medium creamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Hops and caramel malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, malt and caramel. The finish is short and hoppy. Slightly above average overall.

12 oz can given to me by csbosox. Best by 04/06/11 stamped on the bottom edge of the can. Pour is a mostly clear ruby copper brown with a nicely formed off white two inch head. Head falls with some nice splotchy lacing. Aroma is a dull resin hop and some nutty malt. Sort of a woody thing in there as well. Taste is the resin up front, dry and a touch vegetal on the hops. Mid taste, the nut picks up, but is certainly underneath the hops. Palate is medium to thin, coats the mouth briefly, then dries out to a mineral - vegetal finish. Thanks for giving me this one Chris.

Tap - seems more british in character - medium amber color - semi-dry, biscuity british-y maltiness (marris otter?) - pronounced golding hop spiciness and earthy character - a slight yeasty/doughiness to it, but most dry, with a light mineral character on the back end - decent.

Can. Pours a dark amber with a small off white head. The aroma is a floral hop and yeast. Medium mouthfeel with a sweet hop and nice dry finish. Easy to drink, a very good American pale ale from SKA.

12oz can. Orange-brown color with a thick off-white head. Earthy, chewy toffee, caramel hop aroma. A rather malt forward APA, has some nice resiny hop tones but basically gets washed away in thick, clean, malt thickness. Excellent mouthfeel, smooth and rich, quite drinkable. Doesn’t really scream APA, but I like it.

Courtesy of jdubFL. Pours deep gold with thin white head. The mild aroma is mixed with malts, a sense of citrus and wet hair. Hmmm. The taste is as interesting as the nose with an initial pulse of pine and citrus hops then moving toward odd malty notes that seem earthy, lightly roasty, tea and crystal malts. A decent level of hops keeps their presence from front to back. I guess it is the odd earthiness and the way it plays with the other notes that is making the experience unique.

Bottle generously shared by ratman197 at Bistro DIPA festival. Copper amber color with a slight white head. Aromas of wood and florality. Full bodied with mild carbonation. Finish is pleasant and smoothly bitter.
