330 ml bottle @ Cardinal. Black body with a stable, big, dense off-white head. Perfect stout look, even after barrel aging. Really nice aroma of dark malt, pleasant oak, balanced roast, coffee and vanilla. Flavor is just similar to what to expect from the aroma in a very balanced way, with balanced bitterness. Full body and long, good aftertaste. I really like this one.

From a bottle @ Haandfest 2013. This one is really deep dark ruby red in the glass and it has a small islandy and sidesticking dark beige top. Nice really roasted on the nose. Both bitter coffee, chocolate paper, dark sweet caramel and a swiff of vanilla. Quite nice. Quite flavorful also. Alcohol and tons of dark chocolate. It had a really smooth gliding oily mouthfeel and the carbonation is below average. Dark old fruity hints with a really heavy roasted backbone. Enjoying this. 25.05.2013

Bottle picked up at Partizan brewery, summer 2013 consumed at Moreton in Marsh campsite Saturday 2nd November 2013 Black peeling away to chestnut with a tan head. Creamy aroma with a little vanilla and a bit of milky coffee. Full flavoured, roasty, some bitter coffee some spent coffee grains, barrel ageing is quite good. Really roasty the roastiness lingering for some time. Good beer. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Fra flaske på Cardinaltreff sep-13: mmm, en konfekteske på glass - lakris, vanilje, sjokolade, solbær og mørkbrent kaffe. Noen ganger er fatlagring aldeles vellykket. Kveldens beste!

Bottle from Partizan. It pours near black with a small (but long lasting) light tan head. The nose is chocolate ice cream, roasty, vanilla, fudge, cookie dough, wood, faint smoke and smooth whisky. The taste is rich roast, coffee, wood, toast, whisky, charcoal, cocoa, medicinal notes, light spice, light tang and some acidity with a dry, roasty finish. Med-full body and moderate, prickly carbonation. Smells crazy good and don’t taste bad either! Nice mellow barrel aged number.

Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2013, 10/08/13. Dark mahogony brown with a moderately sized tan head. Nose is roast malts, woody notes, earthy, cocoa. Taste comprises Decent number although I don’t think the barrell ageing has done anything to improve the base beer.

Bottle at the brewery. Pretty head on black beer. Nose of soy, umami, manure, a touch of barrel and whiskey, chocolate. Mellow chocolate flavor, a touch of wood and soy, some fruit, hops, and coffee. Not much added barrel flavor, but smoother and more integrated then the regular.
