7 March 2025. At Beer in a Box Adventskalender 2024 Tasting. Cheers to the whole crew!

Tobacco, liquorice, raisin, black tea, rubber. Sweetish fig & raisin, bitter coffee & tobacco. Earthy hops & toast. Quite okay but smokiness feels like an afterthought.

(Draft at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 23 Feb 2025) Dark brown colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, chocolate, black bread and a touch of peat smoke. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, coffee, black bread, a touch of peat and a balanced roasty bitternes. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty, with a balanced peat touch. Nice one.

Can from Beer in a Box. Less outright peated than expected, it's a fairly well-rounded Smoked Porter with notes of roast and coffee.

0.33 l can from 'Mr. Hop', canned in October 2024. Sweetish-malty, gently roasty, fairly smoky-medicinal aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, peat, iodine and hazelnut. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty, fairly smoky-medicinal and slightly salty taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, hazelnut, ash, iodine and some ash, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good one, moreish stuff.
