Gravity dispense at EBF ’18, 07/08/14. Dark mahogany brown with a moderate off white/light beige head that dissipates to edgework. Nose is brown bread, light fart, earthy, cocoa, dark fruit notes. Taste comprises brown bread, light toffee, brown sugars, earthy. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light dryness in the close. Ok mild.

Cask at the 18th Egham Beer Festival. Chestnut with loose translucent head; bready aroma; thin with some purple fruit, caramel and chocolate; then a dry lightly bitter finish with some lingering chocolate. A good mild.

Leeds Beer Festival. Copper coloured, no head. Has a malty sweet character.

Cask (gravity) @ 29th Pigs Ear Beer and Cider Festival 2012, at The Round Chapel in Hackney, London, England.Clear dark brown color with a small to average, open and frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing to lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, light to moderate hoppy, roasted, dark roasted. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, chocolate, sweet malt, dark malt, malt bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20121204]

Pigs Ear. Clear red - brown beer. No head. Light semi dry palate. No carbonation. Traces of dark fruits and coffee buried in the mild dark malts. Semi dry finish. Okay.

Cask at Pigs Ear BF 2012, London. Pours clear brown with a light, creamy head. Dusty bread on the nose, dirt. Light sweet flavor with faint dark fruits. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Bland finish, light sweetness, more dirt and vague fruits. Pretty dire, to be honest.
