A strong Pale ale with a light amber colour. Brewed with lashings of hops to produce a balanced but drinkable strong pale ale, with a prominent floral fruity aroma, a clean malty palate and a satisfying crisp bitter finish. Ha ha me hearties!

Oldham Beer Festival 2023 but labelled there as Earl Soham Seadog.. Golden in colour with a mild hoppy-sweetness, although its strength is evident enough within the brew. Smoothish texture.

Bottle. Poured clear golden orange with an average size, fluffy white head. Aroma of malt, hops, marmalade, caramel and light tropical fruit. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite enjoyed this.

Bottle from Alder Carr Farm Shop, near Needham Market. Some initial citrus in the aroma which is then drowned out by the malts. Copper gold. Middling frothy translucent white head. Medium bitter. A sour edge and sweetness into the finish. Marmalade. But tastes more boozey than it is and metallic. Medium bodied. Slick, if thin. Fizzy carbonation with some softness. Long slightly astringent finish. Leaves an aftertaste. Marmalade and metallic result in a cough medicine-esque boozey beer. Currently down as an ESB but mode of an English Strng Ale for me. Not sure that I actually like it that much but would probably go down well on a stormy seaside night.

Handpull cask at the Grain and Hop Store, Cambridge. Golden and clear with a filmy white head and lots of lacing. Sticky malt aroma with marmalade and persimmon. Strong sweet taste with tangerine undertones. There are some earthy English bittering hops underneath, but it remains a sweet beer. Full body. I really like this.

Cask at the Reading beer festival. Amber in hue. This is a bit sweet, isn’t it? Really sweey shop chewitt type sweet. There’s some tropical fruitiness, sure, and a little earth, but really needs more hop balance to make it work. Poor.
