Phantasmagoria is an IPA that is low in malt flavors, but high in hops. We brew this beer as a nod to the big hoppy beers of the west coast. We use loads of citrusy and piney hops at the end of the boil and in the fermenter to make this beer a hop experience.

12 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of dank piney hops, some citrus and light biscuity malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of dank piney hops dominating, with a little citrus and light biscuity malt. Lots of lychee and stone fruits on the finish, with little malt presence. Excellent.

Bottle. A- Papaya, mango, subtle funk, subtle alcohol. A- Yellow amber color, clear liquid, white head. T- Papaya, guava, mango, bitter. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly bitter finish. O- Stouts and Saisons are what come to mind from Prairie, not an IPA. That doesn’t mean they can’t make a decent one. A solid DIPA without being too aggressive or bitter. A decent amount of citrus and just a bit of that Prairie farmhouse funk.

12 oz bottle. Aroma is insanely high fruitiness, with citrus, berries, pineapple; also, a little sex, cotton candy. Pours murky orange with a thick creamy cream-colored head with excellent retention, leaving curtains of lace after it falls. Taste is candy sweet and lightly bitter with lots of fruit flavors, as the nose; also, noticeable warming alcohol and a nice savoriness. Mouthfeel is perfectly creamy, body medium. Awesome. Not at all like West Coast IPAs, though, with its hazy body, low bitterness and juicy fruitiness. This is what I imagine those newfangled New England IPAs might be like.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours light, bright gold with a small white head. Lots of hop, but it seems a soft aroma. Med body or so. Flavor is hoppy, and it has a bitter bite. But West Coast? The flavor is soft and pillowy. Though there is that bitter bite. A good beer, but not an over the top DIPA. Really good though. More than enough hop to please.

Tastes of tropical fruit, lemon/grapefruit citrus fruit and peel, floral notes, some garlic. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Nice balanced flavor.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with moderate head. Aromas of spicy tropical fruit, rubbery resin, candied grapefruit, and sweet malts. Flavors follow same, a bit richer with more candied fruity spiciness, citrus, mild pine, and bready malts. Super. Nicely done...

Can from Rick, bottle share at Steve’s. Another hop bomb to cut through the funk of the parade of sours. Musty, funky, dank hoppiness. Murky amber pour with fluffy head. Leaves your palate tingling.

On tap at The Hay Merchant. Pours a clear yellow gold with medium frothy white head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is dank hop, tropical fruit, pine. Medium mouth, juicy hop, pine, dank, citrus, lingering resin finish, very nice.
