Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has bread and earthy wheat with a bit of grass underlying. Flavor has earthy wheat and grass with a hint of citrus rind backing.

A lightly hazed golden amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, good caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, OK. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with good floral hops, light mineral notes, treacle, very nice. On tap at brewery.

Draft sample snifter at the brewery. Shomewhat hazy golden color. Aroma and flavor go together. Wheat base, citrusy, light peach, low bitterness. Pretty clean and has a refreshing quality. Very nice for a simple wheat ale

12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 7/27/2017. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts the whole glass. Great thick foamy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops, fruity yeast, and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, mango, melon, lemon/orange peel, citurs rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity yeast, and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 7%. Overall this is a delicious American pale wheat/IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, fruity yeast, and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Nicely vibrant and dank on hops. Tastes like a classic C hopped IPA with balanced pale/wheat malts, and American wheat yeast for added fruity character. A very enjoyable, and pretty unique offering.

Single bottle from Binny’s, bought Jan 14. Big spongy, lacy head puffs up over a golden beer with just a few bubbles. Light, pleasant hop dominates the nose. Taste is a basic pale ale with American bittering hops. Malt is slightly thick, enough to coat the lips. I try to pick up the wheat malt, but the hops are enough to knock it out. This is one of Begyle’s more accessible beers, though, available in multi-pack 12 oz. bottles.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed at home on a cold, rainy, dreary late December evening after having to get my car out of the repair shop. Appearance is a cloudy gold with a moderate white head. Aroma doesn’t have much going on, light yeast and wheat. Taste is nice, dryish finish, unexpected bitterness for the style, overall it’s pretty good.

12oz bottle. Hoppy wheat/ White IPA. Orange body, foamy white head. Big brewhouse malt aroma, almost has what I would consider an Imperial Pils feel in that regard. Rather unique, sort of occupying the odd realm between White IPA and Imperial Pils. Interesting flavor profile, but a little bit of a boozy, malt liquor feel too...doesn’t incorporate/hide the alcohol well. Soapy orange hop tones. OKish. Anndiesel noted that there is a hint of rye.

16oz pint at The Map Room pours a clear orange gold with some cloudy, white head. Nose has mild candy, a little yeasty, some orange, some mild herbs, mild soap. Flavor follows, mildly sweet, hints of spice, orange, mild candy, mild straw, mild honey. Sort of a Gumball Head rip off.

Crash landed pours a deep gold with a bubblegum juicy fruit aroma that has a bit of piney dankness. It has quite a nice light refreshing body that is soft and smooth on the palate. Along with Freebird the best I had at Begyle, great wheat body with a hoppy aroma.

02.05.2013, tap @ Mikkeller Bar:
Frisk lett fruktig lukt med preg av lys malt, humle, lauv, barnåler, gras, kvae, litt tørka frukt. Frisk tørr smak med preg av lys malt, masse humle, beiskt gras, våte blad, våt papp, høy, ugras. God bitterhet som set godt. Grei.
