Cask, half pint, shared with Finn at Hope & Anchor. Hazy dark brown body. Bubbly ring to the rim of the surface. Clingy lacing. Dark doughy aromas. Taste of nuts, caramel, and marmalade. On the sweet side of a bittersweet finish. Just alright. (Bristol 30.04.2017).

Bottle on holiday in Lyme Regis. Bright clear amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has mild fine carbonation. Thin malts, a little bitter toffee. Mild dried fruits. Light crisp finish. Toffee lingers on. A toffee dominant bitter!

Cask pint at the Station Hotel, Gloucester. Reddish brown colour, small off-white head. Very moderate malty aroma, a hint of toffee. Smooth and malty flavour, but not sweet. Nutty notes, fairly decent hops in the finish. Pleasant to drink, and "very English".
