750ml swing top job. Bakers and Larners, Holt, Norfolk. Let this get 6 months beyond BBD but it won’t matter. Never had a beer in shit nick from this brewer. Dunno how they do it tbh. Clear deep red. Thick dense glossy lasting pale ginger coloured foam. 10 all day. Soft savoury smoke. Rye spice. Hedgerow berry. Taste is a little sweet and fruity with a moderate earthy spicy bitterness. Soft and creamy mouthfeel. Bittersweet finish.

Half pint, cask, shared with Finn after breakfast at Bell Hotel (JDW). Laces well from a remaining, huge off-white head. Doughy smell, lightly smoked. Quite nice taste of smoked ham added by caramel malts. Prolonged ending. Pretty good. (Norwich 11.11.2021).

17/10/2020. Bottle at the Lublin SoN beer share, from Hopsters, Ipswich. Pours dark amber/bronze with a large frothy off-white head. Aroma of fruit biscuit, toffee, malt, citrus, light smoked cheese and a little woodchip. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness, touch of tart. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Subtle smoky earthy finish. Looked good, and was quite drinkable, I preferred the light smokiness to those that are more heavily smoked.
