Cask (Pleased To Meet You, Newcastle) - Dark brown with orangey tinges. Raisins, cocoa and blackcurrant are in the aroma. Malty, fruity and slightly chocolatey taste with raisins, caramel and cocoa detected.

Earl of Essex. Cask. Clear red - amber beer. Few pale tan bubbles failing to form a head. Palate is smooth and dry with modest carbonation. Ephemeral dark malts with a whisper of coffee. Light tangy fruits, including apple. Light.dry finish with a mild coffee linger. Bit of a dull affair but doesn’t offend.

Cask at the Black Heart - London. Pours clear brown with a fine, foamy head. Lightly tangy dark malt nose, with hints of earth and cocoa. Light sweet flavor, some mellow cocoa, low bitterness, subtle tangy semi-dark malts, perhaps some fruits. Light in body with soft carbonation. The condition is wanting. Light sweetness to finish, some toasty bread, mild cocoa, dirt. A so so beer in sub-par condition.

Cask at the lyric, Soho. It pours deep amber with a medium white head. The nose is wood, leather, varnish, wood polish and earth. The taste is wood, earth, varnish, leather, bold bitterness, some astringency and zesty citrus notes with a long dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent hopped-up mild concoction.
