You can spot a true original a mile off. Like our Original brew. Bristol born and made to stand out. Created from Maris Otter malt and a secret blend of English hops. Meticulously crafted before ‘craft’ was even a thing. Its distinctive bitter, clean and refreshing flavour has been Bristol’s go-to for good times since the 1970’s. From the first sip to the last drop, you’ll never taste a beer quite like it.

2016 catch up - A good honest bitter and one that I would drink again. Malt, hops and the expected mouthfeel. Some farmyard, biscuit and a good level of carbonation.

6/1-500 ml bottle at Edward Moon.  Bready malts, bit of spice, and earthy hops.  Finishes mid-dry.  Clean, soft, with a lengthy duration.

Bottle from Waitrose and drunk at home. Clear mid brown lasting beige head. Slight toasty malt aroma with some earthy English malts. Toasty malts are rather good as is the balancing English hops. Rather good I thought. Good balance good brown bitter. I liked it. Good balance. Good malt good hop. Very drinkable. I’d have a second bottle easy.

Bottle. Copper coloured, practically no head. True bitter, but very refreshing with a slightly sweet nose.

Bottle. Light brown, little head and carbonation. Aroma of malted orange tea. Taste is a tempered bitter preceded by a toying fruity sweetness. A decent, moreish bitter. To be honest though I prefer the cask version.
