Bottle from Beer Ambleside, Ambleside. Golden coloured bitter with a small head. It doesn't have a high bitterness, perhaps more of a light bitter-sweetness, but the style, accompanied by a good hoppiness, is there. Nice and traditional stuff.

Panda to home, thanks to SHIG, 29/07/20. Very light haze on a golden blonde pour with a thin off white covering. Nose is fruit esters, grass, green apple, a little on the harsh side. Taste comprises stewed fruits, twiggy twang, caramel, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Passable bitter.

25/7/2020. Bottle from Beer Cockermouth (beergb.com), and shared with the SHIG at our second Cumbrian bottle share. Pours clear pale amber with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, buttery caramel and hops. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Moderate body, slight watery texture, average to soft carbonation. Citrus to finish. Not keen to start but got better.

Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 2 (warm up tasting in Jan & Charlotte’s room). Light haze on this amber beer, tidy off white head. Light dry palate, crispy. Usual English bitter fayre - some orange in the bitter hops. Inoffensive but do we really need another bland English Bitter adding to the vast masses we already have?
