12/V/2012 - 50cl can @ Joyce's place - BB: 14/IV/12 (2012-487) Thanks to Thomas and Annelies for the can!

Clear yellow beer, big irregular white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: sweet corn, sugar, ripe fruits, little grassy. MF: ok carbon, light body. Taste: sweet corn, malts, pretty spicy, little sweet, is there cloves in this? Aftertaste: spices, pretty bitter, some malts. Ok, I'd drink it if I were on a holiday.

I picked this up in Istanbul, September 2011, and the photo is my can. Light honey aroma. Yellow color and low carbonation, and a light lager flavor. It drinks ok, for a clear, yellow lager.

21/11 0.5 l can, thanks ogivlado for sharing! It poured yellow body with small head. Stinky corny alcoholic aroma. Flavor is sourish more than sweet, but that annoying corn can’t stop being dominant. Some dusty honey and hay also here. Medium body with long and cloying, warming finish. You can’t expect more than a crap.

Red 50cl can, poured into a pint handled glass in my hotel room (Ovacik, Turkey) during a hot weeks holiday in July 2010. The yeast strain Efes must use on all its beers doesn’t seem to show it’s self in any other brew except this one. I thought the smells from this beer to be yeasty and malty. Regular Efes golden coloured beer, this one however was slightly over carbonated and very lively. The beer was dry and had a citrus feel to it, more so than the regular Marmara anyway. A bitterness came as the mouth dried in the aftertatse, not unpleasant or metallic like some lagers/pilsners produce. I thought this one of the better beers found during my week searching out Turkish beers.

Croatian November ’11 RB tasting, Ogi’s bottle, found in Istanbul. Golden body, small whtie head. Slightly dusty honey nose, meh. Sweet taste, rice, paper, slightly dusty, some cardboard. Adjunct-ridden lager (rice & sugar), but generally harmless.

Can, 6.1%. Dusty and slightly grainy aroma. Clear shiny yellow colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely malty and quite bready. Has a nice sweetness. Hints of alcohol in the finish and in the mouthfeel make it quite OK.
