12 ounce bottle. Clear reddish brown color. Small creamy beige head. Rich roasted malt aroma is reminiscent of molasses and fresh baked bread. Upfront is a sweet roasted malt flavor with notes of toffee and vanilla. Mid taste develops more complex notes of dark fruit, brandy and herbal hops. Finish is chewy, malty and more herbal notes. This is a wonderful example of a classic Bavarian Doppelbock. Right up there with Paulaner Salvator and Ayinger Celebrator.

Bottle. A- Dark fruits, raisins, brown sugar, caramel, gummy bears, slightly sweet, malty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, tan head. T- Malty, dark fruits, caramel, slightly sweet. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish. O- I’ve heard this was a good beer but I didn’t expect it to be this good. Very easy to drink and full of dark fruit and caramel flavors. Very well balanced and really no complaints at all on this one.

I poured this into a weizen glass thinking it was a weizen bock, woops my bad.
Anyways, here’s the rest.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a thick two and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some speckled light lacing glossing all around the glass.
The smell had a nice roasty to sweet bready chocolate cinnamon baked sticky glazed honey. This was really nice.
The taste was mainly bready sweet backed up by a nice sticky glaze of caramel bready malts.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping quality about it. There’s a nice sweet sticky caramel to cinnamon aftertaste with a super nice sweet roasty finish. Overall, big wow from me and the fact that I didn’t have it in proper glassware - I can only hope it would taste just as good and believe it would.

Malziger, leicht oxidierter Antrunk. Wenig schokoladig, süffig, weich würzig. Mit der Zeit vollmundiger, leichte Herbe. Gelungen! 11/11/10/11/9/11

(Bottle) Reddish brown colour with dense, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, red fruit, prunes, brown sugar, dark rye bread, liquorice and a touch of chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with red fruit, caramel, dried apricots, prunes, brown sugar, dark rye bread and a touch of coffee in the finish. Gentle bitterness. More than medium body, with balanced sweetness. Tasty and well balanced doppelbock. Nice one.

BOTTLE 355ML.
Look: deep ruby-brown with a small beige head with poor retention.
Aroma: very malty with some burnt sugar, a hint of fruit acidity.
Taste: sweet, caramel/sugar, balanced by some hop bitterness.
Huge malt, not very complex, but otherwise nice and cleat bock.

Bottle: Poured a burgundy edged brown with a frothy light tan head. Aroma is rich with roasted malts, some stickiness in the nose as well. Taste is sweet caramel and roasted malt, not sugary, very smooth ans some fruit like character as well in the finish.
