We have captured the mouth-watering summer flavours of Glen Ample raspberries by cold pressing the berries to extract their juice. Cold pressing takes time, but it preserves the sweet, vibrant flavours of freshly picked strawberries and makes juice that is far superior to mass produced cocentrates. We then blend this juice with a special beer brewed only with British malt, hops, yeast and water.

Deep red, medium pink head. Really nice juicy berry aroma. There is soe tartness, but its also quite sweet. The flavor is like juice, the base beer is a little tough to pick out. Not bad though, i can actually tell its raspberry and not some random flavor.

Thick, dense pink head over pinkish to terracotta beer, well- but lazily carbonated. Raspberry jam, caramel, frying oil, currant leaf. Initially somewhat bitterish raspberry/fruity flavour, ending in sweeter raspberry jam. Light MF, feels well-carbonated, finish has some syrupy slickness. Not bad, but the Glen Ample blurb fails to convince me. More’s the pity.

Pink, slightly hazy beer with a thin, filmy head. As you’d expect, raspberry is the main aroma and flavour but it’s balanced a lot better than these beers often are. It’s not sugary and sickly and beneath the raspberry flavour it does still taste like beer. Not something I’d want a lot of but the odd one on a sunny day would do nicely.

275 ml bottle. Pours a clear pale red with a small, short lived pink head. Strong, sweet raspberry aroma. Sweet flavour of sugary raspberry. Light body with a sticky, watery texture and soft carbonation.

Single from the LCBO. Pour a clean amber-red colour with a creamy off-white (slightly yellow and pink) head, good retention and some dirty lace. Mild aromas of raspberry juice and rusty water. The taste is really sweet though, with the fruit being light again. Some light grain lingers, after some sourness that helps the big sugar mouth. Still, not enough to save this over-sweet fruit beer.

250 ml bottle. Pours a clear pinkish red with light wight head. Aromas of stale raspberries and light malts. Flavors of sweet raspberry juice. Easy to drink if that’s a plus.

275ml Brown bottle, slightly out of date when opened on 23 Aug 2013: poured into a chalice at home. Raspberry red in colour (no surprises there then!) with a pink-ish collar and mini-wisp for a head. Raspberry aroma (no surprises here either), with some added sweetness. Guess what it tastes like: you’ve got it, raspberries. Actually it’s OK, in fact a lot better than I expected. Not really up there with Belgian fruit flavoured brews (the better ones anyway), refreshing and almost tart beneath the initial sweetness. I’m not a big fan of fruit beers, however there is nothing really bad about this brew, just not my thing.

Aroma of berries and malt. More on teh sweet side than the bitter or sire like many raspbeers. Soft carbonation. Pours red with ok head and lacing. Starts getting pretty syrupy at the end. Bottle.

275ml bottle. Pours a pink-brown amber colour, with a frothy pink head that diminishes leaving some lacing and a raspberry ripple icecream aroma. Fizzy sweet raspberry taste with light bitterness and a tart dry finish. Light bodied, high carbonation. OK fruit beer.
