Unser Hoizhauer Weissbier Dunkel wird auch heute noch nach den Regeln der traditionellen Braukunst mit echter Hefe und dunklem Weizenmalz eingebraut.
Seinen kräftigen Körper erhält es durch den erhöhten Anteil an Stammwürze von knapp 13%, dadurch bekommt es eine leichte Karamellnote und den leicht süßlichen und frisch-hefigen Geschmack: Kräftig, vollmundig, harmonisch – einfach gut.
Die Trübung wird bei uns nicht künstlich durch Kälte erzeugt, sie stammt vielmehr von gesunder, vitaminreicher Hefe.
Getreu unserer Philosophie werden unsere Weissbiere keinerlei Filtration unterzogen, um so den vollen Geschmack zu erhalten.

Zutaten: Wasser, Gerstenmalz, Weizenmalz, Roggenmalz, Hopfen, Hefe

At Zwiesel. Light mezzo mix. Banana. Front heavy, clove and spices, followed by creamy light banana. Not bad.

Bottle at the Bräustüberl Zwiesel. Hazy brownish-amber body, chalky white head. Creamy, caramel, banana aroma, light cloves. Creamy, red apple smooth, caramelly taste, lightly tart, low spice. Okay really.

Tried at the source. Light flowery hop nose, spicy caramel. Cloudy amber brown, offwhite cream. Bready spicy, light caramel, a hint acidic, good balance, quite drinkable.

0.5L bottle thanks to weizen-slayer pours out amber topped with a sand head. Nose is great nice banana bread malts some spice a little pitfruit and that wheat. Taste is more of the nice banana notes a great wheat presents some spice and pitfruit. This is very good.

Das Hoizhauer Weissbier kam im Sommer 2021 neu ins Programm und ersetzte die bisherige Weizenlinie der Dampfbierbrauerei Zwiesel. Gibt es als helles, dunkles und leichtes Weizen. Jetzt (Januar 2024) hab ich endlich mal die Gelegenheit das dunkle Weißbier zu probieren. Dunkel braun-orange im Glas. Geschmacklich haben wir dunkles Malz, etwas Schokolade und Frucht, ein winziger Hauch Kaffee und Balsamico. Die Röstaromen sind eher gering, läuft dann aber trotzdem leicht trocken aus. Schmackhaft. Gefällt mir sogar noch etwas besser, als das bereits recht anständige helle Weizen aus dem selben Haus.

Bottle picked up from the brewery in Zwiesel and consumed at home Wednesday 19th October 2022 listening to Steve Lamaq on 6Music, heating up homemade Cannelloni. I suspect that this like the similarly named Hefe Weisse is simply a rebranding of their regular Dunkel Weizen, however it's clearly a different name and I couldn't see the other in the brewery Getränkemarkt the other day, ok I wasn't really looking but regardless it never jumped out that there were two different versions of the same style. Appearance is dark, hazy brown with a dirty off white head. A little bit of cola, caramel and certainly banana on the palate, soft moutheel, nice light fruity sweetness, good in fact this style has dropped over the last couple of years to be one of my go to German styles to being one I'm less enamoured with, but this is good.
