Bottled@The Hobbit Tasting. Copper colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is caramel, vanilla, some cognac, mild wood as well as some alcohol and fudgelike notes. Flavour is quite similar, but also has a bunch of ripe fruits, some raisins and figs to it. Very wellbalanced.

Fra flaske på RBHD-samling på Tau nov-16: uklar oransjegylden lex kort skum. Lukter fusel, alkohol, epler og gammel sherry. Smaken er også preget av noe tilårskomment. Lang og vinøs, halvtørr ettersmak.

Shared 375 ml bottle at local tasting, from Vinmonopolet. Cognac colour, a slight haziness, minimal off-white head. Strong aroma of oak cask and cognac, also less pleasant notes of fusel. Very sweet flavour, notes of raisins and other dark dried fruits, cognac and oak.

Shared bottle with RB/HD at Tau 01.11.16. Muddy dark orange. Small head. Aroma of fusels, furniture polish and green apples. Better taste, with old plum jam and sherry. Aroma is improving.

Sampled from 0.375 l bottle. Slightly hazy, dark amber with a beige layer. Sweetish-malty aroma of caramel, honey, vanilla and some almond. Very sweet and malty taste of caramel, honey, vanilla, some treacle and a touch of oak, followed by a rather long, slightly bitter, rather warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, slightly effervescent and a bit oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Bottle, enjoyed almost 4 years after bottling. Pours clear golden, with a short lived creamy head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts with grain, toffee and heather as well as kandi, wood, dried fruits and massive herbal cognac notes. Medium body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is sweet grainy malts with bread, chocolate, toffee, honey and banoffee pie, as well as dried fruits and some hot and very fitting cognac and vanilla notes. Dark malty chocolate in the finish. Very smooth and balanced, especially considering the ABV. Splendid brew.
