Bottle. Dark brown, close to black body with a small beige head. Aroma has dark malt, wood, vanilla and alcohol. Taste as aroma, dark, roasted malt, vanilla, wood and much alcohol, close to boozy but just on the right side for evening sipper. Body feels perfect and long-lasting aftertaste.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 09.09.19. Ebony. Beige head. Aroma and taste of oak, calvados, juniper, dark malt and vanilla. Grapefruit and pine bitterness is lingering on.

Fra flaske på Mi2 Cardinal okt-18: brunsvart med ok skum. Vi fikk denne servert rett etter Oslo Brewing Co Dream Porter, og dette var andre saker! Nydelig aroma av mørke malter, eplebrennevin, vanilje, molase/knekk - og smaken er definitivt i dessert/avec-klassen. Superb nightcap. Men vi var bare såvidt halvveis i kveldens storslåtte agenda, så full skjerpings på sykkelturen hjem ble høyst påkrevd. Forunderlig hvor ustabil man kan bli av et solid inntak av stabilisatorvæske...

Shared bottle at Cardinal, Stavanger. Pours hazy black with beige head. Aroma of vanilla, chocolate, ethanol, vinous notes. Tastes slightly sweet with some roasted bitterness. Medium to full bodied. Alcoholic warmth.

Rerate, 330 ml capped bottle, waxed with green wax. Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 15.5%. Pitch black colour, small tan head. Very moderate carbonation. Aroma of roast malts, alcohol, molasses and oak. Warming mouthfeel. Rich flavour, malts and molasses, hints of liquorice, notes of oak. Better than first sample, so I'm upping the score a bit - but still not as good as CA2. Original rating: Sample at Vecturamesse. Pitch black colour. Sourish aroma and flavour, oaky, quite alcoholic and not very well balanced, can't really point out the calvados. Not entirely successful.

Taste is slightly dry sour-ish mineraly, dark sugar, dark malts, sour grass, dried dark fruits, minerals, oak, bark, anise, berry skin, alcohol, fruit stones.
