Can. Very pale gold color. Large, fluffy head. Aroma is grains and bread. Taste is sweet up front, grains in the middle with a slightly bitter finish.

Bottle picked up directly from the brewery, Pilsting a week last Friday en route to signing the contract for our new house, and consumed at home Tuesday 29th November 2022 after a day and night in Garmisch-Partenkirchen with Isobel, we also visited Mittenwald and Erding on the way home. We're listening to Just Mustard - Heart Under, we have Raclette for tea later tonight. Pours clear gold, superb clarity with a white head. Soft moutheel a nice beer, simple, malty, some sweetness, light grain, a touch of honey. The hops are there but they're a little shy.

500ml can, as Edel Bayer Urtyp Hell. From a Beer Advent Calendar and drank on 16th Dec 2019 while on holiday in California. Pours a light golden colour, clean and clear; on top a full (and lasting) snow white crown. Malty, grainy aroma and taste, mild hop action gives very little bitterness, but it does calm the sweetness down nicely. Nothing exciting or out of the ordinary, but a pleasant, easy drinking beer all round.

Crystal clear golden coloured body with a thinnish two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of very crisp and grassy, herbal hops with a pungent yeastie and bready scent with some clean soapy notes towards the end. Light-bodied; Strong grassy and herbal flavour with a touch of coriander seed, some softer malts and a larger bready and yeastie finish with a caramel and nutty flavour towards the end, but nothing too pungent or offsetting from the larger bready and lager yeast flavours throughout. Aftertaste shows some soft soapy and grainy flavours with a light and mild sweetness, a dose of mild peanut and almond flavours and finishing with a rounded hay and dry finish. Overall, a pretty standard helles without much pungency, deep flavours or strong notes, but showing a nice subdued sweetness coupled with some nutty and bready lager yeast qualities that are actually a bit elegant. Nice to sample, as this wouldn't be one I typically try, unless in Germany! I sampled this 500 mL can as Day One [of twenty-four] of the 2018 Christmas Advent Calendar, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 30-September-2018 for US$59,99/twenty-four, sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-December-2018.

16 ounce can. Pours a clear yellow color with a medium white head. A big sweet malty nose. Corn, toast, just big sweet malts. Pretty smooth, no metal which I appreciate from the Calendar. OK.

500 ml can from the Kalea Advent calendar. Labeled as Edel Bayer Urtyp Hell. Aroma is grassy, chalk, a little bready. Pours clear golden with a thick off-white head with excellent retention. Taste is lightly sweet with a very faint hint of bitterness in the finish. A simple, crisp, clean, refreshing brew.

Can from the Advent Calendar: pours fizzy yellow with white head. Aroma is cheap grainy lager. Taste is sweet and borderline malt liquory. This is not a good beer.
