Sin & Remorse is a 4-grain Imperial Stout brewed by Brewery de Molen and Jopen. A multi-grain beer with 38% rye, 24% oats and a touch of wheat. Traditional English Brown Malt tends to add strong coffee and chocolate tones. The result: a beer with full body (De Molen) along with loads of grain (Jopen). A beautiful combination of flavors!

(Keg at Amsterdam, 20171017) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had burnt malts, liquorice and soy sauce. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, sweetness, liquorice, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, burnt and bitter. A nice strong stout that hid its ABV rather well.

Taster from tap at Carwyn Cellars. Pours black. Coffee, toast, chocolate, dusty charcoal. Dry, nice bitterness. Good stuff.

(Draught at Jopenkerk, Haarlem, 27 July 2017) Black colour with creamy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black rye bread, dark chocolate, cacao and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with sweet liquorice, dark chocolate, black rye bread and a sweetish finish with a balanced cacao bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. On the sweet side, but solid and tasty imperial stout. Very nice.

Bottle at home, black beer, small head. Aroma is malt, roasted, coffee, choco, dark fruit. Taste is the same, bitter with some sweetness, very rich and thick, nice one.

Tap (Stu Mostów, Wrocław). Black with short light-brown head. Coffee rules in aroma with delicate liqueur note behind. Sweet in taste with roasty finish, a little bit sour but still definitely coffee rules. Beer like espresso, dark and strong, generaly nice.

Bottle. Color: Almost black, dense light brown head. Taste: Dark roasted malt, earthy, chocolate and coffee. Sweet spices. Lightly notes of alcohol, bittery finish. Overall pretty smooth and easy drinkable.

Associated, Bushwick bottle: pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is molasses, chocolate, completed coffee. Taste is kind of sweet. Middle level of bitters. Not boozy in the mouth. Smooth body.

Tap at Jopen. Foamy glass rimming beige head. on top of a thick black body. Deep and fruity for the style, not unlike Albert Le Coq. Lots of bittersweet chocolate, prune. Really almost has a Caribbean Stout thing going on too. Deep and fruity. Chalky roast. OK.
