500 ml bottle, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.2%. Deep brown colour, slightly hazy. Moderate head, slightly off-white. Aroma of lightly roasty and biscuity malts, brown bread and peanuts. The flavour is malty, but not sweet, again lightly roasty, biscuity and bready notes - and plenty of peanuts. Very moderate hops. Despite the peanut craze: Charlie Brown still tastes like a fairly nice beer with peanuts added, not as peanut butter with beer added. I might even have another one.

Bottle from Beers of Europe [250115]
Dark golden caramel, hazy, frothy off white head, some lacing
Aroma of peanut butter which is more like Snickers. Peanuts aren’t overpowering which is good. Some soft sweet caramel. Simple aroma. Good nutty malts. No hops.
Taste of caramel malts, some soft honey, peanuts less intense than aroma, just the right amount to blend in well. Hardly any hops, this is a malty beer.
Palate - Soft carb. medium body, smooth. Quite sweet. Finish as main flavour, more honey caramel and lingering peanut butter
Overall - Was worried I wouldn’t like this but it’s well done. Peanuts aren’t over the top - it comes across as a really nutty brown ale. A beer where just the 1 bottle is enjoyable and enough.

A brown beer with a quite big and blond head. The nose has peanuts, bread and some herbs. Taste has bread, peanutbutter, herbal bitterness is drying the mouth. Medium bodied, strong but smooth carbonation. Personal, peanuts, notes of Snickers bar.

Keg at CBC Islington, 03/01/15. Chestnut brown with a decent light tan covering. Nose is nutty, earthy, toffee, Snickers bar (Marathon!), biscuit malt. Taste comprises toffee, light chocolate strokes, pretty subtle peanut butter notes, nutty, light roast, toasted nuts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough PNB offering, doesn’t get too sweet or sticky and doesn’t carry that ’false/cheap ingredients’ element that some such luminaries suffer from.

Bottle from the Thornbridge Christmas case. Brown pour with a white head. Huge nut laden nose with a modicum of raisin and dark fruit. Flavours of nuts, spice, pepper and dark berries. Quite nice.

Bottle at Pub Winston. Tnx Kassu. Ruby color, medium-sized off-white head. Peanuts, yeast, odd grassyness. Medium-bodied. Yes! It is peanuts! Malty background. Peanut butter like saltyness. I didn’t like the aroma but flavor is great in its weirdness.

Keg at the Euston tap. Murky muddy brown coloured pour with a lasting cream head. Aroma is odd cherry pips, woody, gooseberry jam and a hint of nuts. Maybe a little tart damson on the nose as well. Flavour is nutty caramel crisp grains with a bit of tart fruit jam. Crisp and minerally on the tongue but lacking a bit of body. Flavour is a little papery with a bit of alcohol presence. A fair attempt but a bit lacking.

Keg at the Euston Tap. It pours deep brown with a medium+ beige head. The nose is sweet, nutty, caramel, candy, salted toffee, cocoa and peanut brittle. The taste is toasty, nuts, earth, mild caramel sweetness, peanut butter, light alcohol and wood with a dry, nutty finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not a whole lot to, but rather enjoyable stuff.

Keg at the Euston Tap - London. Pours rich brown with a thick, tight beige cream head. The nose nolds toasted peanut shells and moderate roast giving an impression of dry cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with more novel peanut shell character, some milk chocolate, fairly low bitterness, some brown bread. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Pretty nicely balanced on the finish with well toasted brown bread, subtle chocolate and burnt peanuts, some leathery berries. Quite drinkable overall, really.

On tap at Craft Clerkenwell. Dark brown beer lasting beige head. Peanut on the aroma. Chocolate and peanut on the flavour. Right up my alley. Hilariously drinkable.
