Godt modnet, men med verdighet. Litt oksydering og nesten litt tjære. Fint skumringen i glasset. Faktisk imponerende bra fra et bryggeri som vi vanligvis forbinder med et øl hvis fylde og heftighet stort sett ligger i det visuelle.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at the big, local Tesco a year or so back. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan cap. Pretty tasty, sweet, with toasted brown bread, caramel, light roasted malt bitterness, raisins. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Sweet, lightly sticky finish, with notes of chocolate, more toasted malts, burnt caramel, dried berries. Rather enjoyable.

Bottle at Piccadilly. Pours a dark brown to black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of licorice, brownies, coffee, dried fruit, lactose and vanilla. Flavour of leather, coffee, rye bread, grass, nuts, raisins and licorice- Has a slick mouth feel, mendium to full body, and a light bitterness. An upscaled Guinness with a sweet tone.

Single bottle from Mariano's, as Guinness Antwerpen Stout. Pours a great big brown head over an opaque black body, but one with a bit of brown at the edges. Dutch cocoa on the nose, some coffee, and a hint of bourbon alcohol. Foam stays stiff, and has a bit of a roast coffee taste over the liquid part. Taste is rich with bitter chocolate and coffee, a bit of velvet texture. Alcohol is present, but remains in the background to warm me up as I drink it. Goes down very easily.

Deep brown to black. Ruby highlights. Huge beige frothy head. Eternal retention. Aroma: roasted barley, burnt sugar, dried fruit, a little strange plasticy note. Medium body. Flat carbonation. Taste: light to medium sweet malty start. Roasted, burnt sugar. Fruity mid. Hoppy ending. Pronounced bitterness. Well, quite tasty. The huge froth took away all the bubbles though.

Big off-white frothy head. Deep dark and a bit cloudy. Strong roasted malt aroma and flavor. Some tropical fruit and licorice. Full bodied, with a hint of sourness. Long roasted malt finish.
