Das Arber Spezial schmeckt durch den charakteristischen Malzkörper und einer ausgewogenen, leicht bitteren Hopfen-Note vollmundig, würzig und rund.
Dadurch wird es zu einem sehr süffigen Bier, das in geselliger Runde gerne getrunken wird.
In den 20er Jahren des 20. Jahrhunderts braute Josef Pfeffer, der Bruder des Brauereigründers Wolfgang Pfeffer, ein kräftiges Bier, das unter dem Namen Arber Spezial weit über die Grenzen Zwiesels bekannt wurde.
Das heutige Arber Spezial, original nach Josef Pfeffer eingebraut, soll an diese Zeit erinnern.

Bottle at home, golden beer, small head. Aroma is malty, grainy, hit of caramel sweetness. Taste is the same, malt, grain, caramel sweet, bitter, ok

Bottle from Hausmann Getränke. Light Amber, moderate head. Lightly spicy nose. Tasty light caramel notes on the start, moderate complexity, great grassy/spicy hop notes on the aftertaste.

Bottle. Clear dark yellow/gold sporting an ok white head. Aroma of grains, malts, minerals and some earthy hops. Taste of malts, grains, butter, metal, minerals and earthy and spicy hops. Moderate bitterness. Medium to strong carbonation. Alright but not that convincing.

Mild herber Beginn, der gut zur aufkommenden Karamelligkeit passt. Süffig, wenig würzig, helles Malz. Leicht ansteigende Aromatik, geringe Bitterkeit. Getreidig karamelliger Abgang. 8/9/9/9/8/8

Bottle, huge thanks Kuba for sharing! GOlden body, off white head. Sweetish malty aroma, light... er... coconut? Woody maybe. Sweet, lean malty taste, apple notes... meh... Not my type.

Bottle picked up from Appel Getränkemarkt, Moosburg and consumed at home Monday 17th May 2021 we are cooking Spätzle for tea tonight. Listening to Tom Ravenscroft covering for Steve Lamaq on 6Music. Pours warm gold with a white head, excellent clarity. Sweet, grainy with an very tiptoeing bitterness, light fruity edge, very light, hop action or more accurately hop inaction leads little to be desired. All told this is a tad sweet and dull.

Arber Spezial, Flasche aus Sechser-Tragerl Der Bayerische Wald von REWE, Regen. - Dunkles Goldgelb, schwach trüb. - In der Nase fetteres, leicht karamelliges Malz, blasse Zitrusfrucht (Orangenschale), leicht hopfenwürzig. - Antrunk breit und glatt hellmalzig mit milder Karamelmalznote, Sahnebonbon, dezenter Malzsüße und feiner limonadig-zitroniger Herbe. Durchschnittlich rezent, vollmundig, ein wenig hart. Im Abgang nur milde kräuterige Herbe. - Solides Export, nur etwas blaß gehopft und wie so viele Exportbiere schwach ranzig. (15.10.2020.)

Half-litre bottle: BB 18th May 2020. Obtained from 'Beers of Europe' and drank in the garden at home on 25th Mar 2020. Clean and clear golden pour, fading white head. Fairly sweet in nature with a bready, malty front to both the aroma and taste.
