Heavy on hops, that was always the brewery plan. So in 1980, we loaded Pale Ale up with Cascade—a new hop at the time named after the mountain range—and the intense aromas of pine and citrus sparked the American craft beer revolution.

Bottle from an online shop. Golden amber, moderate cream colored head, citrus and honey-caramel nose. The flavor is vibrant, nicely C hopped, pretty smooth bitterness (not as I remember from many years ago but maybe my taste has changed). Nice light crusty-beer-bread hints on the cara side of the body. Truly a classic!

Amber pour, small white head. Pine and citrus aroma, particularly orange. Hoppy and malty with a surprisingly strong body and a soft carbonation. Very subtle pale ale in the modern craft ale world but it hits the right notes.

355 ml bottle. Cloudy orange almost amber, foamy head. Pine, bitter orange and orange zest, grapefruit. Hoppy spicy bitterness. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, bitter finish.

Amber color with sticky foam. Hop aroma of citrus and pine. Flavor is bitter hops first followed by some sweet malt. Bitter aftertaste.

Creamy white head,moderate resistance. Orange color, moderate carbonation. Nice balance, medium body. Citrus aroma lasting when taste. Bitter finish, and lasting bitter aftertaste. Nice one.

330ml can - classic. Nothing I'll be able to add that 5,000 others haven't already done. Decent go to APA.
