This sensational new blonde beer is full of citrus character, from the initial aroma through to the clean, sharp and fresh flavour, enhanced with fresh lemon and lime pith. Its fruity palate leads to a satisfying aftertaste (First Gold, Hallertau)

Very weak body and character and only a slightest hint of lemon in the flavour.

Crosse Keys Spoons. Very hazy gold beer, no head. Light semi dry palate. Completely bonkers beer, can’t help but like this! Take a packet of refresher sherbet fruit sweet candy and dissolve in Lucozade. A little cough medicine and add perfume! There is some grapefruit and pine hops under all this sugary madness. Dry finish. This beer is going to piss off a lot of people which makes me like it even more!

Cask (handpump) @ The Bankers Draft, 1-3 Market Place, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England S1 2GH.Clear light to medium yellow colour with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, moderate hoppy, lemon, lime, artificial. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long to average duration, artificial lime - lemon, lime - lemon close to cleaning agent, malt, one way fresh in a other way very bad and artificial. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20111020]

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Gold, no head. Yes, it’s definitely got lemon and lime in it. But the underlying beer is a rather soapy and sticky affair, meaning that the end product is horribly reminiscent of lemon and lime washing up liquid. Nasty.

Cask-conditioned at the Knights Templar (JDW), Bristol 22/10/2011. Pale gold in colour with a greenish tinge. Aroma of cheap lime cordial, lemon and tied hops. Flavour was a sweet, sickly mess of lemon and lime with something vaguely lagery in the background. Truly awful.

Cask @ The King’s Highway JDW, Inverness.
Appearance - Light golden...hazy....thin white head dissipating to nothing.
Aroma - Strong lemon and lime washing up liquid...sweet...no hops.
Taste - Strong lemon and lime...very faint bitter hpos that clash...no malt...disinfectant.
Palate - Finish same as main flavour with a touch a metal....soft carb...thin.
Overall - Are they taking the piss? Like 2/3 pint bland golden ale with 1/3 cheap rubbishy concentrated lemon and lime cordial - JDW needs some serious quality control over the beers they sell during their festivals - too many poor beers this time. This is probably the worst. It’s not a beer. Even Bud Light with a dash of cordial would taste better than this shit.

Cask at the John Logie Baird (JDW), Hastings. Oh dear! Based on this pint this is sensationally bad - poured amber with a ring of white head; aroma of a citrus disinfectant; chalky in the mouth with more disinfectant and artificial citrus flavour and perhaps a trace of sweet orange juice; the finish is thin and watery with more disinfectant. I’ll probably give this a second chance if I come across it elsewhere, but my initial opinion is that it is best avoided. (3/4/4/1/6=1.8)

Second attempt: Cask at the Monks Retreat (JDW), Reading. Better this time! But only marginally. This time there is a definite taste of lime cordial rather than disinfectant, but it comes in a poor second to a lager and lime. (6/3/5/1/10=2.5)

cask at Standing Order ... murky hazy yellow amber ... thin scum head ... soft fruit nose ... huge lemon and lime front ... light oily body ... rich washing up liquid lime linger ... downright weird but i like it ...

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby Spoons Canterbury. Clear gold no head. I can smell it from a foot away. Aroma of lemon meringue pie. It is horrible. Seriously I would dri.k pale lager for the rest of my life than ever have to drink this again. Nasty artificial sweet lime fruit. Has nothing to do with beer. The fact they inyended it to be this way and its not infected losses it even more points. This is complete rubbish and should be avoided at all costs.
