Sublimely elegant this toffee toned Bock is rich with a blend of Wisconsin and German barley malts. Over four months of resting in oak Bourbon Barrels gives this beer a wonderfully smooth body that will improve and mellow with age. Should you choose to enjoy this classic today you can expect a treasure of vanilla, oak and caramel notes to be bolstered by hops from France, Slovenia and Germany. Wild Brett yeast sings in harmony to the tune of Bock. 20 degrees Plato OG makes this Bourbon Barrel a masterwork to remember.

That’ll be me 20K then @ ChrisO’s. Bright clear amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Dry but vibrant dried fruits. Spice and caramel. Good tangy bourbon on the back end. Light semi dry finish. Nicely fruity.

Bottle shared at Kenny’s 20K, thanks to Essex Pappa, 15/01/16. Clear chestnut brown with a beige head. Nose is toffee, dates, spice, light metallic notes, plastic, booze. Taste comprises light bourbonics, sweet’’n’sour edge, toffee, fruit cake. Medium + body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a touch of boost. Ok Dbock, barrel is fairly light, a touch harsh at times though.

Bottle thanks to Ken at his 20K tasting. It pours clear deep amber with a tiny bubbly off-white head. The nose is sweet, toasted malt, vanilla, oily, fruit cake, brown bread, almond and Dundee cake. The taste is rich, oily, fruit cake, vanilla, toasted coconut, wood, varnish, leather, warming alcohol, quince jelly and tangy dark fruits with a slick finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rich, mellow and rather quaffable. Works rather well.
