Sample from 75 cl. bottle. 2010 Vintage. Hazy, dark amber colour with a golden tint. Small, tan head. Sweet aroma with rich caramel malts, light toast, overripe fruits, some licorice, a vinous alcohol note. Taste is sweet. Full body, with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Long lasting drying finish. Solid BW.

About 13C. Clear dark red with a beige head that is never less than a good coat and leaves lots of lacing. Aroma of toffee, sherry, dried orange peel, pine, mocha. A little obvious alcohol. Oily mouthfeel. Taste is sweet but thoroughly cleaned up by slightly spicy bitterness. There’s toffee and dried fruit, but the extent of the whisky flavours is a surprise given the aroma - although it’s more obvious going back to sniff. Some salt and oak at the fairly boozy end. Half expected the hop aromatics to be jarring, but if they ever were they’ve settled down nicely.

Bottled@The Chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011 "Donkey Dork Lord Edition". Amber colour, small head. Aroma is caramel, alcohol, wood and some slight herbal notes. Flavour is alcohol, some fruityness, caramel, mild floral notes as well as earth and some slight yeastyness as well. Pleasantly balanced, but feels a bit young still.

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours dark red-amber, with a decent off-white head and moderate carbonation. The nose is polish, fig, prune, sweet liquorice, toffee and sweet caramel. The taste is caramel, toffee, treacle, raisin, currant, fig, weak coffee, chocolate, nut, solid bitterness and alcohol warmth, with a dry finish. Sticky mouth-feel. Decent.
