Bottle from The Bottle Shop, Canterbury, Kent 16th July 2011, consumed at home 17th July 2011 Pours dark amber with a reddiness, white head, a touch murky. clean, slight hoppy nose, but very fresh aroma, like a wet, rainy day with some citrus peel. Tasty in mouth, like a hoppier Belgian ale, quit a citrus tang on the back of some Belgian yeast. Finish is really quite dry and with a lingering middling bitterness. Nice beer but not quite as good as some of their beers I’ve had recently. A7 A3 T7 P3 Ov14 3.4

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours ruby-gold with a faint, white head. Aroma holds big, resinous hops, pine, and some Belgian yeast. Flavor is lightly sweet, relatively dry, some yeast and leaves. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, yeast, pine, not too sweet, mild toast. Very nice.

Bottle at the Kernel Brewery. It pours hazy orange-brown with a thin bubbly off-white head. The nose is wood, resin, lime, grapefruit, cheese and light sourness. The taste is grapefruit, tangy lime, lemon, orange pith, resin, leather and underlying light sourness, with a woody-dry finish. A very interesting brew indeed.

Cloudy red - brown beer with a bubbly pale tan head. Light and semi dry palate. Moderate carbonation. Citrussy nose. Flavour is light orange citrus with mild grapefruit bitterness and an interesting mild sourness. Turns more orange peel before the dry finish. Interesting beer - bags of flavour for it’s abv and very drinkable. A tad dry for my tastes but could be a great sessioner. Would love to see Evin and the boys develop this in new (and stronger) directions.
