Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen, Pimlico, London last November. A dark brown coloured pour with a smallish beige head. Malty, fruity aroma. Tastes fruity, malty, hoppy, chocolate, slight bitterness. An interesting collaborative effort.

(Cask at Harp, Covent Garden, London, 26 Nov 2010) Dark brown colour, almost black, with foamy beige head. Roasted, hoppy nose with notes of chocolate, coffee and pine needles. Roasted, malty taste with coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, pine needles and a hoppy finish with a generous, piney bitterness. Medium body, with balanced sweetness. Very nice beer.

A cellar run in the Rake thanks to Mario! Cheers Mario - much appreciated! Clear dark red brown beer with a little white head. Light semi dry palate. Smooth dark malt with a little dark chocolate and a trace of coffee. Piney grassy hops, fresh. Finishes smooth and slightly bitter. Unusual. The malt and hops elements are nice in their own right but the whole doesn’t equal the sum of the parts for me. Perfectly okay drinkable beer but not a knockout.

Cask at the Cask & Kitchen, Victoria/Pimlico, London 01.12.10. Pours dark brown with an off-white head some malt on the nose but there is a light burst of fresh hops skipping through. Taste is showing more of those fresh green hops, some maltiness, a little velvety chocolate, and a dab of spice, quite lovely. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Cask at The Grove, Huddersfield. Dense dark brown colour with a small tan head. Fruity, hoppy nose with a touch of new car tyre. Taste wise this had plenty going on, and was slightly sweet, with yet more citrus fruit and some great hop bitterness tussling with the biscuity malts, and a hint of spice. Hard to fault really, and a very solid and tasty collaboration.

Cask at CPK. Pours clear, amber-brown with almost no head. Toasty malts, light roast, citrus and earthy hops make up the aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet, with mild chocolate, semi-bready malts, some light earthy bitterness, hints of honey. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Finishes lightly spicy, malty, with faint fruit and some earthen hops. Good.

On tap at the Cask, Pub and Kitchen. Deep reddish/brown pour with a white head. Very fruity nose, a little medicinal. Some herbs in there too. Interesting tastes, cherry, orchard fruits, caramel. Quite a complex character this one. Sharp fruity, bitter finish. Intriguing.

Cask at CPK on 23 November 2010 on launch night. Dark ruby-black with an off white foam ring giving part-lacing. Aroma is of coffee and spices, mainly cinnamon, and the main taste in-mouth is sharp citrus grapefruit, and some deliciously herby and grassy hop notes. Burnt coffee in the finish with an exquisite bitterness developing, and the mouthfeel is zingy and engaging. Beautifully crafted beer, and quite amazing how the two main flavour "foci" worked side by side in harmony. I liked it.
