Slightly aged sample Off-white head, disappearing over dark reddish-copper beer. Bit spicy nose, rootspices, whiff of portwine, peppery. Sweet, spicy but a tad dull. Again port/madeira, but not really oxydized. Rosewater, spices. Thinned by age? Undercarbonated, still. Over its best, but interesting. 7/4/6/3/13 Thanks to Stef!

Shared bottle at local tasting. Amber colour, very little carbonation. Boozy aroma, notes of oak. The flavour is sweet, oaky and boozy, hints of dried fruits, moderate bittering hops.

Alkoholen varmer i magen. Svakt karbonert og lav bitterhet. Rather boring and really quite underwhelming.

Bottle from Purely Cornish, Looe. Quite active out of the bottle, it's dark amber with a carbonation and a very thin head. It's strength hits you immediately, but it's not overly sweet for its high value, but obviously there's some sweetness to it. Fruit as well, a hint of citrus, some sourness, fairly tangy, and good for a winter night.

330ml bottle picked up at Tuckers Maltings in Newton Abbot earlier this year. Shared with Finn and djoeye. A bubbly, low, beige head to a clear copper coloured body. Minimal lacing. Dried fruity nose, moments of herbs and leather. Sweet taste of berries and ripe citrus. sweet malt-fruity ending with warmth from the alcohol. Heavy drinking, slow sipper. Rather sweet in the long run. (Tromsø 01.08.2017).

Bottle courtesy of Bob cheers Bob. Consumed at home unusually having a beer or a Monday night but hey it is Loz’s birthday, Monday 14th November 2016 Pours mid amber with a hint of a reddiness, a few stray bubbles but no discernible head to speak of. Tangy, fruity and a little sour, not my thing, to be fair it’s not awful, but life’s too short to drink stuff like this, I don’t think that I can finish this is likely to be a drainpour. Bottle shared at Daniels place. 20/02/2016. Many thanks to Daniel for this one. Bright orange amber coloured pour with a small halo of white head. Aroma is tangy orange, slightly musty, brown sugar, hot alcohol. Flavour is composed of tangy orange rind, slightly musty, hint of acid. Little brown sugar. Palate is semi sweet, moderate carbonation, slight tangy. Actually not bad.

Bottle at Richmondo, big thanks to Dirty Danny. It pours clear rich deep Amber with no head whatsoever. The nose is earthy, musty, dirty, leather, butterscotch, toffee, stewed orange, vegetables, gummy bears and over - ripe fruit. The taste is tangy orange, tangerine, candy, sticky, gooseberry, earth, gummy bears, with a short finish. Medium- full body and slick mouth - feel. I doubt it would do you harm in the short term, but in the long term maybe.
