Das "Export Hell" vom Kapplerbräu Altomünster, vom Faß im Kapplerbräu. -Goldgelb, klar. - Antrunk kremig weich hellmalzig, fein getreidig, sehr dezente Restsüße. (31.3.2025.)

Bottle picked up from REWE, Altomünster, consumed at home Sunday 19th March 2023 listening to Todd Terje - It's Album Time, Loz is baking bread and I am cooking Paella later. Pours light clear gold with a huge frothy white head of foam. Not as malty as I was expecting, in fact there is an underlying bitterness, not heavy but noted, also quite dry, this seems to straddle a path between Helles and Pils, rather than being definitely in the former camp. It's got a little fruitiness, high carbonation, pretty decent and far better than the score here suggests.

Bottle. Dark gold colour. Thick lasting head. Oily, light hop aroma. Grassy, fruity taste. More flavour than expected from the style.

50cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours golden with a decent head. The nose has sweetcorn and pale malt. The taste has vegetables, maybe green beans but could be sweetcorn again. There isn’t really a zestiness going on. The palate is close to medium bodied with a fairly creamy texture and a fairly clean finish. Overall, solid but not particularly good for German lager.
