Our Star Island Single is an eminently sessionable, abbey-style ale offering a beguiling mix of flavor and refreshment. This medium-bodied golden ale features a slight residual sweetness from Honey Malt and hints of citrus and tropical fruits from the unique Belgian yeast it is fermented with, leaving a crisp dry finish. bottle pours pale gold with a medium white head. Aroma is strong yeast and hot spice. Flavor is light pale malts and wheat, very refreshing with a fruity yeast finish.

Tap at The Long Room. I find this beer a bit underrated. Pours a hazy yellow-gold, almost no head but lots of bubbling carbonation. Aroma holds yeast and Belgian character. Flavor is pleasant, with a rather yeasty profile, slight caramel, some fruit. A very bready finish. Good sweetness, some banana. Light-medium in body with lively carbonation. Overall I found it pretty good. Light enough to refresh, deep enough to satisfy.

12oz bottle. Orange tan color, looks filtered. Steady, creamy, off-white head. Doughy, sweet aroma. Medium bodied, a pretty awesome beer. Creamy, with doughy, sugary notes. Moderate but solid hop balance gives it a nice, sandy. Moderate spicing really mellows it out. Whereas most US beers that even get near spices go for the overkill, this one is smooth and refined. Almost like a Belgian Cream Ale. Worth seeking out.

OK, from a 12 oz bottle. A beldjy, HA! What a redhead on the label, check her out, the shells and all! The pink corner of her bra sets up an interesting story. Truely, a little skunky on the pop, but in a freindly kinda way. Slight haze on an otherwise pale yellow beer. First taste is what I think to be bitter then it immediately changes to a hint of what seems to be belgian yeast. Veggie aroma continues. Not sure if this could pass for a session brew or not. Hey! there is gunk on the bottom of the bottle. So I guess it is bottle conditioned to an extent, eh? Very thin lacing on the inside of the glass. Has a tart or sour attitude lurking in the back there someplace if you look for it. Not sure if there is any recognizable CO2. Can’t find a date code but this stuff comes across as aged a year or so. Overall, somewhat average beer drinken experience, but I’m glad to have done it. Finish is beldgy smelling beer with a mild attitude. Perhaps not as refined as the real beldgies but it gets you someplace in the vicinity.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy golden-amber color with a small white head that faded quickly. The aroma was tangy, sweetish and a touch earthy with faint dry spices. The flavor was tart, bitter and a bit dry with light citrus and a hint of musty spice. Dryish citric and musty finish. Medium body. Struck me as a decent belgian wit. Solid.

Bottle. Pours a nice amber with a decent head that dies fairly quickly. Aromas have a bit of spice and topsoil with a little bit of cat pee or something a little off. Flavor certainly has a nice edge of spices... fennel, sage and coriander come to mind, but I’m not exactly an encyclopedia on the subject. A little bit of a honey sweet maltiness weaves its way through the spices. This is a little watery and not very interesting. It’s not bad, just not compelling.

Pours cloudy dark golden color with white head. Armas are yeasty and spicy. Lightly fruity flavor with some yeast. Medium body with lively carbonation.

bottle. Pours golden/orange, thin white head. Aroma is hoppy, notes of spice though mild, light yeast with herbal undertones. Flavor, light caramel malts, hoppy with weak spice and bitter mouthfeel. Just couldn’t get into it, seemed too one dimensional.
