The release of our Turbo Shandy Citrus Ale is around mid June. Born from European tradition, our Shandy is a refreshing combination of lemon and light malt flavors. Unlike traditional shandys, Turbo Shandy, revs it up a couple of notches with a high test, full flavored approach as only Hoppin’ Frog can do.

Bottle. Pours yellow with small frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is strong lemon zest and citrus. Thin mouth, tastes like boozy lemonade and ginger, decent.

Bottle shared by aobecksy and tibeerious at RBWG. Clear light yellow with a white head. Spicy hop aroma. The flavor is sweet and lemony with no bitterness. Citrusy tartness to finish. Totally hides the alcohol.

Bottle at RBWG 2013 Grand Tasting. Pours clear yellow with a small, white foam head. Sugary lemon nose. Big sweet flavor, light breads malts, sugary lemon candies. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet, lightly sticky finish, lingering sweet lemon. Meh, tough style to pull off.

Borefts Beer Festival IV. Day 2. Post Fest tasting in Jan & Charlottes Room. Clear gold beer, residual white head. Palate is light and dry and crisp. Refreshing lager and lemon. The lemon is quite sharp. Crisp finish. Imperial Shandy?! Refreshing!

Pours hazy straw color with white head. Smells like hi-c orange drink. Tastes like sour, old orange juice mixed with a pale lager. Not very good. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bomber from bittermestupid. Thanks again Greg. Pours light dishwater gold with no meaningful head. The aroma is citrus - going a bit towards 7-Up. Med body. Flavor is very 7-Up, but there’s some additional complexity. The citrus is more rind, and the malt kicks up the sweet. Tho weird for the U.S. it seems almost balanced - the citrus cuts the malt. But this is not hoppy citrus. Just citrus. More Radler than anything? Glad to have tried it.
