Bottle from Sainsbury’s in Bude, Cornwall. An amber/brown coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, caramel aroma. Tastes sweet, caramel, malty and rather thin. Nowt special.

Cask @ City Arms, Cardiff. Copper with massive head and lacing. Faint aroma if honey on toast, berries with a bit if sulphur. Taste is a sour-bitter astringent experience. A bit of sweetness pokes through in the corners of the finish. Grows on you, but not my thing. This is another beer I drank loads of in the naughties but we’ve drifted apart.

Cask at the 2013 Grape and Grain Spring beer festival, Crystal Palace. Dark amber pour with a white head. Caramel, toffee and light citrus aroma. Caramel and treacle toffee flavour. Bitter-sweet finish.

Cask @ The Post Inn, Whiddon Down. Has an easy drinking texture, with a nice farmyard style fruity edge to it.

Bottle 500ml.@ ChrisOs. [ Vintage BBF 1205 ]. Clear medium yellow amber colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, oxidide, cardboard, caramel, plum - dried fruit notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, oxidide - cardboard, caramel, dried fruit. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20110801]

Bottle @ Chris O’s. Thanks guys. Pours clea dark golden with a small white head. Fruit, marmelade and grain. Medium and smooth palate. Dry end.

Bottled. Golden colour, small head. Aroma is fruits, wood, some mild caramelly and earthy notes as well. Flavour is malty, nutty and quite bitter fruity and wooden notes as well. Well balanced.

Cask at The Great Western Hotel, Exeter. A dark golden beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of plums, caramel, and a bit of spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, toffee, and a a bit of bread, leading to a soft finish.
