(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 27 Nov 2010) Dark brown colour, almost black, with creamy beige head. Roasted, malty nose with dark bread, coffee and ryvita. Roasted, malty taste with notes of dark bread, coffee, dark chocolate, hints of ashes and a generous cocoa bitterness in the dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Nice and tasty porter.

Cask at Market Porter, London. Pours opaque, ruby-brown with a foamy head. Light roast aroma with notes of dark malts and fruits. Sweet flavor with hints of raisin and vanilla, plus mild char and brown sugar. Medium in body with fine carbonation. Has a roasty, dry finish with lingering dark malts. Very good.

Cask, gravity dispense at Merton Summer Beer Festival July 18th and 19th 2008 V dark brown with off white head. Aroma was all coffee for me not that strong but I got little else. Taste was roasty and coffee, some fruitiness, but if truth be told I thought and had hoped it would be better than this, although in its defence it was quite late on Saturday when I got to sample this and I was tired and just wanted me bed.

Cask condition, handpull at Wenlock Arms. Black beer with brown edges, tan head. This is a pretty good stout. Nice charcoal. some decent dark fruits and chocolate. I like the toasty parts on it.
