12oz bottle. Pours with no head. Aroma is strong on cherry and raisin black bread, a nice mix. It is also lightly licorice and boozy alcohol. Flavor is alcohol with a thinned out flavor with light cherry and thin black bread. Good because it is not overly Kuhnhenn-esque but nothing too special.

On tap at HopCat, Grand Rapids. Deep, almost clear garnet-red body, thin cream ring of carbonation. Sweet, fruity, syrupy nose, the warming alcohol the only characteristic distinguishing the aroma from so many cheap, watered-down amber ales and red lagers on the market. Hot, fizzy, sharp body, with brown sugar and dark fruit, spritzy and boozy with a warming finish. Thin, vapid, and bland, with no real "Belgian" characteristics.

Bottle. Pours a leather brown, with no head. Aroma is heavy with brown sugar and soy sauce with a little bit of a fruit edge (raisin and plum). Flavor borders on cloying with sugar on the palate from start to finish. This is very sweet and a little more so than I was hoping for.

Served on draft at Hopcat in Grand Rapids. Pours a clear red color with a medium tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of toffee, other malty notes and light fruity notes. The taste is big caramel notes, spice, berries, toffee and apple,. Medium-full bodied. Tasty stuff.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with small foamy head with some retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of candi sugar and dry fruits is enjoyable and more balanced then I was expecting. Taste is also a more complex affair then expected with a nice strong malt backbone with light residual candi sugar with notes of fry fruits and fruity ester. Nice touch of caramel malt and light toffee. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Very well done though a fuller body would have been a great addition.

12 oz bottle shared by beastiefan2k. Pour is hazed brown copper with only a thin light tan head. A bit of oily legs. Aroma of mild cherry, earth leafy, almost tobacco - soft vanilla behind that. Taste is the vanilla cherry sweet up front, earthy leafy behind that. There is an almost menthol yeast clover thing going on. Interesting, a unique taste, but a bit uncultured - a bunch of the yeast kind of pops you in the jaw near the end. Palate is medium bodied, soft silky mouthfeel. Thanks for sharing Eugene.

Bottle @ Miami Fandango β10 gathering. dark brown, no head. strong dark fruits and chocolate along with the mild touch of the pilsner malts adding to this light bitter sensation. Thick caramel mouthfeel with a mild soy sauce finish. Fruits add a touch of tartness and some dark sugar. Had a lot of the typical Kuhnhenn characteristics and yet I couldnβt really get into this one.

12 oz bottle. Deep brown and completely flat pour. Aroma is strong and somewhere between raisin, molasses, chocolate syrup, and soy sauce. Flavor is similarly in the vicinity of chocolate syrup, molasses, and raisin, perhaps a bit of oxidation (the good kind). Syrupy mouthfeel, in large part due to the lack of carbonation. It all seems like it shouldnβt work, but I still find myself strangely enjoying this beer.
