Bottle shared at Chrisso’s May 2014 tasting 25/05/2014. Huge thanks to Chrisso for the Brodies Blue whale! Hazed dark orange coloured pour with a big off white head. Aroma is staleish malts, caramel, sharp apple, mandarin. Flavour is composed of caramel, some faint blueberry, toast, berr and some stale malts. Palate is very highily carbonated and attacks the tongue. Showing some signs of age.

Bottle @ Chriso May 14 tasting. Judging by how old the ratings are below i’m not sure this beer is at its best. Although seemed to taste alright to me if a bit husky. Some prominent blueberries for sure, forest fruits, spongecake, a little spice.. not bad.

Brodies Whale found lingering in Chriso’s house of beer. It pours rose pink with a thick off-white head. The nose is toasty, blueberry skin, earth, assorted fruits of the forest and faint jam. The taste is crisp doughy, blueberry, soft fruits, grass and light bitterness with a dry finish. Light-medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. A bit wishy-washy, but not bad given its age.

Bottle from the brewery, Feb 2011, consumed at home shared with dad 30.08.11 Pours hazy orange amber with white head. Touch wheaty as would expect, but some sweetness. Really quite nice, fruity but whilst I don’t necessarily get blueberries there are certainly berries of some description in the mouth. Quite good. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Bottle from William 4th pub. Well its not blue. Given the inventiveness of this brewery I am a bit surprised it is just a regular light brown copper colour. Thin lasting beige head. Slightly berry fruity aroma. Slight tinge of plastic. Settles down into a decent fruity bitter. Like all Brodies beers its very likeable. Its a fruity bitter

Bottle at home. Pours a hazy, deep gold with a foamy, white head. Nose holds some doughy, yeasty bread and faint fruitiness. Flavor is so so. Has some light, malty sugars, faint earth, hints of alcohol, and some very mild fruits. Light to medium in body with average to lively carbonation. Finishes a little bready, with a bit of sharpness, little bitterness. The beer isn’t bad, per se, but I can’t really pick out anything I like about it.
