The start of the most evil & epic beer series ever! Mephistopheles is a nasty brew. Dark as night and perversely hoppy. Brewed with roasted malts and loads of hop. Simcoe dryhop gives a big nose of over-ripe tropical fruits. Limited to 2.000 bottles. Released: October 2016.

Bottle from Biernavigatie. The smell betrays that something is wrong with this beer. The aroma consists of roasted malt, light coffee, fruity hops, mild herbal, touch of citrus, with some weird and unpleasant dusty funky earthy horse manure-like element which unfortunately dominates the aroma. Flavour is a decent moderate sweet and medium bitter. Body is just above medium. Such a shame about the manure flaw in the aroma, nothing wrong with the flavour and body.

Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 10 2017 bottled a year before, 33 cl sample. Slight hazy copper to dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma with lots of toffee and butterscotch, some earthy and piney hop and a bit spicy note. Almost more of an american strong ale. Medium butterscotch and toffee sweetness and getting more bitter towards the finish. Quite full bodied, lots of flavor, giving it a real american style feel. Very interesting and very tasty.

Bottle shared in London - cheers to Kenneth. Pours clear gold-brown with a frothy, off-white head. The nose has toasted brown bread, grapefruit pith. Light sweet flavour with faint minerality, cocoa, orange rind, more brown bread. Light bodied with average carbonation. Alright balance in the finish, a bit restrained, some further pithy notes. Enjoyable if a little basic.

Bottle thanks to Kenny. Level 42. It pours dark deep brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is soft, sweet, sticky, dark fruits, red berry, toasty, candy and hint of farty vimto. The taste is bitter - sweet, berry skin, sticky, pink grapefruit, resin, pithy, mild astringency, toffee, treacle and candy with a dry, soapy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Fair, a bit rough I suppose.
