Courtesy of Joe I take it. It pours amber with tan head. The big aroma offers up some roasted malts mixed with oak notes, red wine and a light lemon like acidity. The taste has tartness right off the start that leans quickly toward red wine. By midway I get a bit of roasted malts and spicy yeastiness coming to the surface. It seems to add a touch of vanilla sweetness into the finish.

750 ml bottle @ RBNAG-11. Hazy orange body with a big tan head. Aroma is fruity, spicy and mild malty. Flavor is really fruity, a bit like peaches, spicy, yeast, light caramel and some mild acidity. Medium body. Feels to light and quaffable for a Belgium dubbel, but decent and nice anyway.

Bottled @ Beer Temple (from notes): Red color, muddy. Off white head. Aroma’s: red fruit, malty sweet, caramel. Flavor is medium sweet and medium sour. Finishes lightly bitter. Not sure if the sourness was intentional, but it doesn’t fit the beer.

750 ml bottle into tulip, no bottle date. Pours nice hazy reddish orange color with a fairly dense 2 finger khaki head with amazing retention that reduces to a thick lacing cap. Some bits of lacing cling to the glass as well. Tons of carbonation streaming up from the bottom of the glass. Aromas of huge grape juice, raisin, molasses, caramel, chocolate, nuttiness, and spices. Huge aromas here I could smell as soon as I poured it. Nice stuff. Taste of big white grape, caramel, toasted malt, pepper, spices, bread, and molasses up front; with some chocolate and nutty notes near the finish. A slight bit of tartness in the back adds a different aspect to this, with lingering notes of chocolate, nuttiness, spices, molasses, and caramel. Finish is excellent, not too dry, leaving a nice amount of linger flavors. Nice balance of flavors as well. Alcohol is nicely hidden with none noticed except for a small warming on the finish. Great drinkability. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a nice and creamy mouthfeel. Overall this is definitely an outstanding dubbel with tons of flavor and great balance. This improved a lot as it warmed up.

Bottle from 2006 at the 2010 Funky 6. Pours a somewhat murky, orange-brown with a strong, off-white head. Aroma holds overripe fruits, burnt toffee and Belgian yeast. Lots of dark, berry fruits in the flavor with sweet malts and caramel. Medium to full in body with soft to average carbonation. Sweet on the finish, a touch syrupy, with more caramel, cane sugar, dried fruits and toasted bread. Very nice beer.

Bottle shared by Adam, thanks! Poured a hazy deep caramel brown with a white head that lasted throughout the beer. Aroma had notes of sweet grains, cookie and caramel with a slight metallic note. Flavor had sweet grains, caramel and a bit of backing sweet fruit.

Bottle, kindly shared by gunnar. Brown colour, big off-white head. Aroma of Belgian ale yeast, brown sugar and spices, hints of camphorwood. The flavour has more fruity acidity than I expect from a dubbel, some spicy and woody notes too.
