Cask at the Reading beer festival. Brown. Loads of pepper and herbs. Especially thyme. Dry throughout. Excellent, distinctive saison. Another great XT beer.

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Bristol Beer Festival, March 2014. Deep brown with a decent, off-white head. Yeasty berry fruits, orange peel, some grassy hops and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Cask at the Ivy House - Nunhead, London. Pours clear, dark brown with a frothy, light beige head. The aroma has toasted brown bread with nips of Belgian yeast. Light sweet flavor with blackened toast, dried dark berries, burnt earth bitterness, suggestions of bitter cocoa. Light bodied with fine carbonation and a silky mouthfeel. Finishes with more bitter earth, some yeasty dark fruits, faint cocoa, dirt, more burnt toast. Not bad.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival, KEGS. Cask. Murky dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light, dry and crisp. Good carbonation here! Very good condition! Light tangy malts, whisper of dark character. Nice tangy citric peel hops, orange and a little grapefruit. Whisper of sherbet. Light dry finish. Pretty good stuff.

Cask, handpump at The Shoulder of Mutton, Wantage, Oxon, Tuesday 18th February 2014 Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Very fruity, quite fleshy, juicy fruitiness, refreshing, tangy even a little tart at the edges. I like the fruitiness, it’s a very good beer the finish is dry and most pleasant. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
