Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2019. Cask @ White Hart, Todmorden. Reddish-brown with a very small head. Has a light malty caramel sweetness that's best in its nose.

Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading. Chestnut colour with a beige head and a nice fluffy mouthfeel. Tastes of light spice, toffee, earth, dry autumn leaves, a little chocolate and quite a strong burnt note. Dry and bitter finish. Ok, not sure the flavours quite went together for me.

On cask at the Standing Order. Appearance - orange to brown. Thin head. Nose - dark honey and brown bread. Taste - more brown bread. Burnt raisins. Palate - close to medium bodied with a crunchy texture and a long dry crunchy finish. Bit of a linger but maybe you don't want it. Overall - not really a brown ale, but ok.

Cask handpull at Knights Templar Spoons. Clear dark brown beer. Lasting beige head. American brown ale style flavour rich malt and some roast and biting lime chocolate hop. Fairly decent beer I thought. I liked the finishing hop.

[Cask at the Bear (JDW), Maidenhead.] A pale chestnut pour with a thin white head; rye aroma with a touch of spice; taste of lightly toasted rye bread with a spicy malt body; and a sweetish finish with some citrus.
