Pike Brewing Company Kilt Lifter

Kilt Lifter

Pike Brewing Company in Seattle, Washington, United States 🇺🇸

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy Regular
Score
6.57
ABV: 6.5% IBU: 27 Ticks: 71
Unlike the lighter "Scottish" ales, this is an authentic heavy Scotch ale. It is lightly hopped with a strong malt character, and a hint of peaty smokiness. Warm fermentation produces fruity esters and balances the sweet malt character.

Second beer on a flight at the brewpub on 11th August 2025. Deep amber body, beige crust. Malty and very slightly smoky/peat bog undertone. Not the first Kilt Lifter I've met!

Tap @ Pike Brewing Co, Seattle. Pours a deep amber brown, small pale tan head. Caramel nose. Medium bodied, nice toffee presence, a small amount of sweet malt grain. Good wee heavy.

Draft: Poured a clear burgundy color ale with a medium off-white foamy head with OK retention and light carbonation. Aroma of caramelized malt with light toffee notes is enjoyable. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt notes, some toffee with some residual sugar notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not the most complex offering from the style but enjoyable nonetheless.

Cobriza de buena espuma y buen aspecto. Aroma escaso, malteado. En boca es suave y de predominio malteado, tirando a dulce, con contrapunto de tono ahumado, ligeramente lupulado.
