Bottle 34,1 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Sweet fruity aroma. Medium body, sweet fruitiness - somewhat rustic though - with a metallic touch. A little odd and cheesy. Has a vague underlying tartness but no real hoppiness. 230310

This is labelled Reb’Ale and clocks in at 6.9% pours amber, with thick off white head. Aroma was lightly yeasty, malty, some mapple notes and bourbon like wood (most likely something else). Taste, caramel malts with the now typical Schoune signature taste. Finish is lightly hoppy with mustard seed like palate and light bitterness, some brown sugar, alcohol is enjoyable.

Draught, at the Fête fromages et bières; eye: amber brown, lightly opaque, tiny white head; nose: my mother’s chocolate pudding; mouth: bitterness, a bit of chocolate pudding, does not really take off, light to medium body, oily texture, goes down well FRANÇAIS Fût, Fête fromages et bières; oeil : brun ambré, légèrement opaque, petite mousse blanche; nez : pouding au chocolat de ma mère; bouche : amertume, un peu de pouding au chocolat, ne décolle pas vraiment, corps léger à moyen, texture huileuse, coule bien

Labeled here as Reb’ ale Bright orange-gold; nearly no head. Very sweet nose, nearly syrupy, caramel, toffee and - fruity like preserved & dried pineapple on sugar. Tastes thank God a little less sweet than the nose, but still. In fact, it has a watery MF (rather than texture) and then swallows absolutely syrupy. Aftertaste is medicinal, and again sugar-preserved pineapple. Did they use maple syrup in this one too? Or - if it exists - concentrated pineapple juice? Sorry guys, don’t like it very much.

Hazy reddish amber ale with a thick big bubbled off white head. Caramel malt in aroma with beginning of burned rubber notes. In mouth, sweetish malt, very watery body, light orange notes, a bit chalky. I remember this used to be their better beer, but now, its plain crappy, with a crappy pop-art label, rather tacky and sexist. prefered L’Érabière’s.

On draught at Mondial, 6/3/2005. Hazy orange, copper, shiny gold. Little head recedes to ring. Head is off-white. Bubbles rise quickly, bursting lazily at the top. Bits of buttercream in the nose, then growing stronger in to a sugary sweet cream. Flavor start with light grassy/herbally hops, maybe a touch of citrus. Some apple juice makes its way in with bits of yeast on the end. Caramel sugars, and some bubble gum esters all the while. Finishes yeasty with low carbonation. Some light cereals on the end and a little bit of white bread dough. Medium to medium-full body.

Bottled. Cloudy orange. Vinous with some acidity. Clean rounded mouthfeel, medium sweet. No bitterness. Despite it’s relatively high alcohol it’s refreshing. An original and interesting beer.

topped with a loose rocky white head, deep hazy amber color, but the nose is odd; fluoride with a strong malt present. The taste is slightly medicinally orange with hints of stewed tomato leading to an astringent dry orangey finish.

Pourred a deep murky amber brew with a huge head. Lot of carbonnation coming out of this one. Nice mixture of spice which give a good complexity to this belgian ale. Body is OK and alcohol is well hidden in the mix. Overall, a good one from this hit and miss brewery.
