Sweet and boozy, some banana, a bit of cinnamon, chocolate, some bourbon. In a pretty good shape still, nana untegrates nicely, very nice.

Bottle, kindly shared by ChrisOfstad. As BCBS Bananas Foster. It's dark brown to black in the glass, topped by a minimalistic, short lived beige head. Quite heavy aroma on the dark malt side, but the first thing I really notice is the banana, which feels sort of artificial, but still not putting me off. Luckily though, most of the banana aroma disappears quickly, leaving more room for the roasted malts, dark chocolate and brown sugars. Nuttyness, wood and bourbon too. Quite a lot of alcohol stinging in the nose too. It's full-bodied, warming and smooth on the palate, quite sweet, but not cloying. Some bitterness as well. Roasted malts, woodyness in an unusual way, which I guess is caused by the cassia bark, some nuts and freshly roasted coffee, brown sugar, some dark chocolate and a touch of banana, vanilla, oak and coconut in the flavor. Quite lasting finish, which is a bit too warming, just like the aroma and initial mouthfeel, but still pleasantly complex and tasteful. The banana was as bit strange initially, but besides that this beer was sure enjoyable. 241027

Bottle. A- Alcohol, chocolate, faint nuts, slightly sweet. A- Black color, black liquid, no head. T- Almonds, sweet, mild banana, brown sugar, cocoa, booze. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, complex finish. O- Labeled as Bananas Foster. 2023 Vintage drank with 1 year of age. Really nice, wonder how the banana changes with age though. It was pretty light and the almond is probably the most prominent of the adjuncts.

2023 Bananas Foster Stout at 13.9%. Pours viscous black with deep brown head. Banana really shows out of the bottle on the aroma. Flavor is ash, chocolate and boozy. Not my favorite varietal of the BCBS family, but solid and nice.

2023 Bananas Foster BCBS variant, 500 mL bottle, 13.9%. One of the more intriguing variants I've seen released in this series. Jet black pour, dark brown espresso fading foam head. Excellent balance of base and adjuncts. Banana finds the fine line between subtle and noticeable before becoming overpowering. Bourbon notes shy away from getting hot in this heavy brew. Banana, cocoa, bourbon nose. Toasty, chocolate background. It tries to be sweet, but in no way reaches a point where it's too much. Late palate has cream pie dessert reminders. I don't seek out pastry, dessert stouts, but I'd enjoy this on a regular basis if I could. Excellent addition to the series.
